Rejoicing. Didan Natzach. Fasting. Teves takes us on a whirlwind starting with the last few days of light-filled Chanukah, to the exhilarating victory of Hey Teves, then on to the solemn day of fasting on Asarah B’Teves…we draw strength and inspiration from each of these days in different ways, they are each a catalyst for growth. Here’s what Neve Chabad has been up to during this meaningful month of Teves.

Happy Rosh Chodesh Teves! This cozy, wintry month was kicked off with a beautiful ladies Rosh Chodesh event at the Lichys on the last night of Chanukah. The women were treated to a hot cocoa bar (including homemade marshmallows by Chani Goldblatt) and were regaled by several talented women of Be’er Sheva with words of inspiration and a musical rendition.

The Neve Chabad men got together for a Hey Teves farbrengen. Thank you Chaim Arias for hosting this uplifting and thought-provoking gathering in honor of this special day in Chabad history.

The children of Neve Chabad gathered together with something new and exciting up their sleeve: “Neve Chabad Kids Teach Hebrew!” Learn new Hebrew words by watching the entertaining and informative short videos created and planned by our very own kiddos.

The first of the series is out! Watch below to learn what different fruits are called in Hebrew!

Participants of the computer programming class led by Yisroel Lazerson continued to learn SQL, the first segment of the data science course. These sessions are a great opportunity for our community members to expand their skill set.

As residents of Eretz Yisrael, we have the privilege of keeping the Mitzvah of Trumah and Maaser. Our community gathered to learn these practical and important laws in an insightful class taught by Aaron Shaffier. The best part? Enjoying delicious oranges from the Goldblatt’s tree after they’d been tithed.

It’s a girl! Mazal tov to the Lazerson family on their newest addition, sweet little Devorah Leah Shifra Chaya. May she bring much joy and nachas to her family and community.
